Longtime NBC News correspondent steps down

Luke Russert, an NBC News correspondent for eight years, exited the position.

He's the son of Tim Russert, who worked for NBC News for 24 years, 17 of them moderating "Meet the Press."

Luke Russert said he was not going to a rival news outlet. Rather, he said he was "taking some time away from political reporting" to think about his future.
