Michael Neidorff, longtime CEO of St. Louis-based managed care company Centene Corp., died Thursday. He was 79.
Company officials cited "a lengthy illness." Neidorff, who intended to retire from Centene this year, had been on medical leave for six weeks.
He led the company for 26 years, growing it from a small health care firm to a Fortune 25 corporation.
