Lockheed Martin to furlough 3,000 workers during shutdown

Lockheed Martin said Friday it will furlough some 3,000 workers this week during the shutdown.

The defense contractor, which is working on the $392 billion F-35 fighter jet program, expects the number of furloughed employees to increase each week the shutdown continues, according to Fox News.

Affected employees include those who work in closed government facilities.
