Lockheed Martin to buy Sikorsky Aircraft for $9B

Lockheed Martin, the Pentagon's largest arms supplier, announced today it would buy Black Hawk helicopter maker Sikorsky Aircraft from United Technologies for $9 billion.

The company also reported net income of $929 million, an increase from $889 million a year earlier, according to Reuters.

Earnings per share rose to $2.94 from $2.76.
