Defense contractor Lockheed Martin's CEO is stepping down on June 15.
Marillyn Hewson, 66, is slated to become executive chair of the board.
The board elected James Taiclet, 59, as the company's new CEO. He's been chairman, president and CEO of American Tower Corp. since 2004 and CEO since 2003.
“I know it is the right time to transition the leadership of Lockheed Martin," Hewson said in a statement. “The corporation is strong, as evidenced by our outstanding financial results last year and a record backlog of business."
