A real estate agent with Carol Jones Realtors has been named treasurer-elect of the Missouri Association of Realtors.
Miles Noennig, who also is a board member of the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors, was elected during the Jan. 18 MAR Board of Directors meeting in Jefferson City. The MAR board has roughly 300 members.
Noennig took over the role immediately, and with the appointment, he will become treasurer next year, president-elect in 2015 and president in 2016. Noennig was one of two candidates in the running and beat out Ryan Gattermeir of Lake Ozark-based Gattermeir Davidson Real Estate Group.
"Either way - Ryan or I - I think the MAR would be getting a good leader added to the leadership team," said Noennig, a broker and chief administrative officer with CJR in Springfield. "I'm looking forward to serving the association and the nearly 18,000 members."
Among Noennig’s focuses is increasing membership, which has fallen from roughly 28,000 members in 2007.
As treasurer-elect, he said he expects to travel monthly to the MAR headquarters in Columbia, as well as participate in teleconferences.
A 15-year real estate agent, Noennig has been a state director of MAR since 2009 and a board member of the GSBOR since 2003.
