Local QPS stipends expected to top $4.5M in 2022

QPS Missouri, the Springfield campus of QPS Holdings LLC, is projecting higher stipends paid out to local clinical research participants in 2022 than in the prior two years.

This year, QPS Missouri expects to make more than $4.5 million in stipend payments, according to a news release. Of that, roughly $1.5 million is projected in the fourth quarter.

“Our study participants are a key part of our success and have made a difference by helping advance drug research," said Brendon Bourg, vice president and general manager of QPS Missouri, in the release. “To have the opportunity and ability to provide this type of supplemental income to our local community is something we are honored to be a part of.”

QPS Missouri spokesperson Trent Chance said via email that the organization paid out $3.5 million and $1.3 million to local clinical research recipients in 2021 and 2020, respectively. Fourth-quarter payouts were $594,332 in 2021 and $827,225 in 2020, Chance said.

QPS Missouri has been conducting clinical research studies for nearly 29 years, with assistance from over 50,000 study participants, according to the release. At 1820 W. Mount Vernon St., QPS Missouri has five independent clinics, a pharmacy with a retention area, multiple labs, over 240 beds and a 2,500-square-foot negative pressure room, Additionally, the company in July this year added a second location, at 11,000 square feet, at 2025 W. Sunshine St., Ste. L-109.
