Local Play It Again Sports store honored

The local sporting goods store, 1300 E. Battlefield Road, had sales of more than $3 million last year, the best in the 400-store chain. It also received the Concept Award for selling more used products than any other store.

“We’re very proud,” said co-owner Jeff Newlin. “Springfield’s a great sports-minded town.”

Mark Russell manages the store, established in May 1994, for Newlin and partner Jeff Salyers.
