A southwest Missouri manufacturer makes this year’s Fortune 500 list, revealed in the May 5 issue of Fortune magazine.

Leggett & Platt in Carthage ranks No. 456 on the list based on 2007 revenues. The company – which ranked No. 419 last year – reported $5.2 billion in revenue last year, according to the list.

Nine Missouri companies made the list. The Fortune 1,000 features 29 Missouri companies, including Springfield’s O’Reilly Automotive Inc. at No. 767, up 24 spots from 2007. The auto parts retailer, which last week moved one step closer to acquiring CSK Auto Corp., reported $2.5 billion in 2007 revenue.

Bentonville, Ark.-based Wal-Mart Stores tops the Fortune 500. The full list is available here.
