According to an HBA news release, the “Fill the Bin” campaign is designed to ease the strain Ozarks Food Harvest is feeling from helping hurricane refugees as well as the local families who regularly visit the food pantry.
Waste Corporation of America has donated bins for the campaign, and the goal is to gather enough nonperishable food and personal items – one ton – to fill a dumpster.
Food items such as canned goods and other nonperishables, personal hygiene products and baby items – formula, bottles, diapers, blankets and wipes – can be dropped off 7 a.m.-5 p.m. at the HBA office, 1200 E. Woodhurst, Ste. R-300. Donation pick-up also is available by calling the HBA office at (417) 881-3711.
A special incentive is available to HBA members for the campaign. For each item donated, HBA members will receive $1 off the price of admission to the next monthly association dinner meeting.
