The Missouri Arts Council has awarded $7 million in grants to Missouri nonprofit arts organizations, and more funding is available.
The latest round of grants range from $2,000 to the Ozark Main Street Program for the annual Ozark Music Bluegrass Festival, to $288,900 to the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for its 2009-10 performance season, according to a news release.
In southwest Missouri, fiscal 2010 grants include:
$15,679 for the Branson Arts Council's Community Arts Operating Support program;
$11,961 for the Messiah Project;
$23,311 for Missouri State University's Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts;
$20,143 for Springfield Ballet;
$32,502 for Springfield Little Theatre;
$10,257 for Springfield Mid-America Singers;
$8,768 for Springfield Regional Arts Council's Challenge America program;
$26,095 for Springfield Regional Arts Council's Community Arts Operating Support program;
$20,650 for Springfield Regional Opera;
$7,234 for Springfield Regional Opera's Challenge America program; and
$32,350 for Springfield Symphony Association.
The council, a division of the state Department of Economic Development, has another $600,000 available for monthly project grants, arts education monthly strategic grants, touring grants and capacity building grants.[[In-content Ad]]
