The grant is the third since July, bringing the state’s total assistance to about $6.3 million in fiscal year 2006.
Funds are appropriated by the General Assembly to the Missouri Job Development Fund and are administered through the state’s Customized Training Program.
Employees at 19 new or existing Missouri companies will receive training to upgrade skills for their particular industries.
GE Motors by the Regal Beloit Corp., 2401 E. Sunshine, will receive $34,500 to train 200 employees – more trainees than any other company receiving assistance.
Other local companies receiving funds include: EFCO Corp. in Monett, $31,625; Leggett & Platt Branch One in Carthage, $34,500; and Graham Packaging Co. in Joplin, $20,125.
Ozarks Technical Community College administers training programs for companies who received funds but do not have an on-site facility.
