Local companies make acquisitions

Three local companies WW Outdoor, Superior Steel Products and JLD Tech Services have completed acquisitions in the last two weeks.|ret||ret||tab|

WW Outdoor|ret||ret||tab|

WW Outdoor, a joint venture of Watkins Outdoor Advertising and Wise Sign Company, has purchased Ozark Sign Service, according to a company news release.|ret||ret||tab|

With the purchase, WW Outdoor now offers 49 additional billboard faces in the Ozark, Nixa and Republic areas. |ret||ret||tab|

Greg Watkins, managing partner of WW Outdoor, said their first priority is to improve the appearance of the signs.|ret||ret||tab|

"All the signs are in highly desirable, highway-frontage locations," said Watkins. "Some are in good shape and others need a bit of sprucing up. Our plan is to begin releasing the units as soon as they can be brought up to our standards. Obviously, we are very pleased to help our advertising clients increase their exposure with these great new locations." |ret||ret||tab|

Watkins is owner of Watkins Outdoor Advertising. Bill Wise owns Wise Sign Company. Those two companies remain separate entities.|ret||ret||tab|

Superior Quality Steel|ret||ret||tab|

Marshfield-based Superior Quality Steel Products has announced the acquisition of Intercont Products and its line of aqueous parts washing equipment from Aftermarket Technology Group Inc. of Springfield.|ret||ret||tab|

Since 1988, Superior Quality Steel Products has specialized in designing and manufacturing custom-fabricated parts and products. To reflect the acquisition, the company has changed its name to Superior Quality Steel Intercont Products Inc.|ret||ret||tab|

Greg McVay is chief executive officer and president of Superior Quality Steel Intercont Products. The company is a member of the Springfield Area Manufacturers Association, of which McVay is vice president.|ret||ret||tab|

JLD Tech Services|ret||ret||tab|

Nixa-based JLD Tech Services Inc. has acquired PIP Internet from Buffalo businessman Donald Lester, according to a company news release.|ret||ret||tab|

Jim Davidson is president and senior wireless engineer for JLD Tech Services.|ret||ret||tab|

"I am very excited about the prospects for PIP and believe this purchase will allow for real advancement of PIP's residential and business services," Davidson said.|ret||ret||tab|

PIP Internet Service will continue to focus on providing service to individual and business customers in Dallas and Hickory counties.|ret||ret||tab|

In addition to PIP Internet, Davidson also serves as president of two similar Internet companies CorpraNET Group Inc. based in Nixa, and Broadband Kansas, based in Independence, Kan. Both companies provide high-speed wireless Internet service to businesses and local government offices.|ret||ret||tab|

JLD Tech Services provides computer network consultation, computer hardware sales and business Internet solutions. Davidson holds both Novell and Cisco Systems certifications for network development and consultation.|ret||ret||tab|
