List: CoxHealth among best employers for new grads

Posted online

CoxHealth is among the best employers for new graduates, according to a new Forbes list.

The Springfield-based health care system placed No. 162 out of 300 organizations ranked on the Forbes list of America's Best Employers for New Grads. Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to survey more than 28,000 young and early career professions – those with less than 10 years of work experience – in areas such as reputation, salary and benefits, education and career advancement opportunities, and working hours and atmosphere. Companies included in the list have at least 1,000 employees.

On the list, CoxHealth is between No. 161 Trader Joe's and No. 163 Amgen.

“Recent graduates entering the workforce have high expectations for their employers, and we’re honored that our young professionals find value at CoxHealth,” said Andy Hedgpeth, vice president of human resources at CoxHealth, in a news release. “A big focus of our strategic plan is workforce development and investing in our people, and it’s encouraging to see that our young colleagues recognize that.”

No other companies based in the Springfield area made the list.

No. 1 is General Mills, followed by NASA, Google, Mayo Clinic and Microsoft.
