Liquor training offered for Branson businesses

Posted online
Several liquor-training sessions are available for Branson businesses that are now required to provide employees with education on serving and selling alcohol under a new law.

The ordinance, approved by the Branson Board of Aldermen last October, requires that all Branson liquor-licenseholders provide alcohol education to servers, cashiers and bartenders within 90 days of an employee's hiring.

To help businesses meet that requirement, the city's Finance Department is hosting four training sessions, conducted by the Community Partnership of the Ozarks. Businesses that have liquor licenses and those in the process of obtaining licenses can attend.

Training lasts about an hour and a half. The four available sessions are at at 9 a.m. Feb. 20, 3 p.m. Feb. 20, 9:30 a.m. March 26 and 1:30 p.m. March 26, all at Branson City Hall.

The cost to attend is $5 per person and can be paid at the door. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP by calling Community Partnership at (417) 888-2020.
