LinkedIn agrees to pay $6M in Labor Department settlement

Posted online
LinkedIn Corp. has agreed to pay nearly $6 million to more than 350 current and former employees after a U.S. Department of Labor investigation found the online career-networking company violated the country's wage law.

The settlement calls for LinkedIn to pay some $3.3 million back overtime wages and $2.5 million in damages to workers at branches in California, Illinois, Nebraska and New York, according to Fox Business.

The settlement absolves claims that LinkedIn failed to record and compensate workers for all hours worked, a violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
