St. Charles-based Lindenwood University named an IBM executive its next president.
John Porter is currently vice president of services for an IBM business partner, Gulf Business Machines, in Dubai. He previously was a member of the board of trustees for Springfield's Evangel University.
Effective July 1, he succeeds Michael Shonrock, who was terminated in February after being put on paid administrative leave. University officials have not said why he was fired.
