Owner Karl Jones purchased Republic Floral and Gift LLC, 291 U.S. Highway 60 in Republic, for an undisclosed price in January. After a complete remodel, the shop opened in mid-April.
This is the second full-service location for Jones, in addition to its 1303 E. Battlefield shop. A smaller Linda’s Flowers shop also is located in Summer Fresh Supermarket on Plainview Road.
One of the three original employees at the Republic store transferred under the change in ownership. Theresa Carter manages the Republic shop.
“Republic is a great expansion area, and it kind of expands our delivery area,” Jones said. “That was right on the fringe of where we can deliver, and now we can deliver to a much farther reach.”
Jones said business at the Republic location has been about half delivery and half walk-in traffic.
The store offers fresh flowers, live plants, gift baskets, balloon bouquets, tuxedos and other wedding services. Discounts are available for schools and churches.
Hours of operation are 8 a.m.–6 p.m. Monday though Friday and 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Saturday.[[In-content Ad]]
