In the past five years, the percentage of women in senior leadership positions have grown, though there’s still plenty of ground to cover. That’s according to the Women in the Workplace 2019 study from LeanIn.org and McKinsey & Co.
Comparing 2015 and 2019, the study finds women in C-suite positions have increased to 21% from 17%, and women in vice president and senior vice president roles have both risen 3%, to 30% and 26% respectively.
And for decades, women-owned businesses have been the fastest growing segment in the U.S. economy.
For this issue, Springfield Business Journal connected with five businesswomen to hear their best advice in the areas of leadership, stepping up, motivation, mentoring and innovation. The women are business owners, a bank leader, a nonprofit founder, a professional fundraiser and an accountant.
Decades of leadership, challenges and triumphs have forged these 23 tips into pearls of wisdom.
This installment of Springfield Business Journal’s Architects & Engineers Project Report showcases 26 endeavors by area design and engineering professionals.
