How does your social media ecosystem look politically? If most of your friends' posted beliefs are similar to yours, there is good chance you identify as a conservative and your liberal friends have deleted or blocked you.
Those are the findings of the latest Pew Research Center's Journalism project, according to a report on the study from the Washington Post.
About 47 percent of “consistent conservatives” say posts about politics on the social network are "mostly or always" in line with their own and “dominate” the conversations they see. “Consistently liberals" reported just 13 percent, suggesting liberals see a wider range of views on social media than their conservative counterparts.
The divide could be attributable to the liberal drop rate. Consistent liberals were the most likely group – 44 percent – to block or unfriend someone because they disagreed with their political postings.
The study found the same is true for off-line, in-person interactions as well.
