Letter to the Editor: Greener streets start with new developments

I have been following the discussion in Springfield Business Journal about the condition of the entrances into Springfield and the need to “green” our roadways throughout the city – and to keep them green.

Now, here is a concept: on the West Coast, some municipalities require new parking areas to be landscaped in such a way that they are entirely canopied by trees in eight years.

Wow! You could say those municipalities mean business.
