Lego changes bulk-buy policy after backlash

Lego is reversing its policy on bulk purchases after recent controversy involving Chinese artist Ai Weiwei.

In October, Ai accused Lego of censorship when it refused to sell its bricks directly to him. A critic of the Chinese government, Ai wanted the bricks for artwork on political dissidents. He ultimately used donated bricks from the public for an exhibition in Melbourne, Australia.

In its announcement, Lego officials said they no longer would ask what bricks are for when selling in bulk.
