The 2:30 announcement will be at Library Station, 2535 N. Kansas Expressway. The group also was scheduled to stop in Kansas City and St. Louis this morning for similar events.
The legislators, led by Rep. Ryan Silvey, R-Kansas City, and including Mark Wright, R-Springfield, had planned to make their plan public last month but postponed the announcement at the request of Gov. Matt Blunt. The governor asked if he could first provide input.
Blunt in mid-2005 privatized the license-office system.
State Democrats have said the FBI is investigating the selection process and illegalities in Blunt’s connection to it. Neither FBI representatives nor U.S. attorneys in the region have confirmed or denied an investigation.
