Leggett declares 17-cent dividend

Carthage-based Leggett & Platt on Wednesday declared a fourth-quarter dividend of 17 cents per share, a 6.3 percent increase from a year ago.

The dividend will be paid Jan. 15 to shareholders of record as of Dec. 15.

The furniture manufacturer’s dividends have increased annually for 35 consecutive years.

Leggett Oct. 19 released third-quarter financial results showing record sales of $1.41 billion.

Shares of company stock (NYSE: LEG) closed Wednesday at $22.94, compared to a 52-week range of $20.20 to $27.04.
