The New Nixa High School
Designed by Jim Stufflebeam, AIA, and now under construction, this project for the Nixa R-XI School District is a 225,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility including a 30-acre master plan for athletic fields and a stadium for one of the fastest growing school districts in the state. It includes a library, gymnasiums, dining facilities, theater, classrooms and is large enough to accommodate future expansions. It is designed to serve the needs of the school district during the day and the public after hours. Individual classrooms are designed for multiple computer stations and advanced media systems, and the building is being equipped with a fiber-optic backbone to meet future technology needs.
Why is this project your legacy? Nixa High School is noteworthy because of its size, impact and importance to the Nixa Community, and as a milestone in the growth of Nixa, as well as SDA Architects. Incorporating timeless architectural ideas, the facility will be viewed as a community landmark. The building and campus fulfill the client's and community's desire to have shared elements serving both the school district and the community well into the future.
