Legacies in Architecture

Posted online

Dunton Hayes & Associates, LLC (formerly the American College of Forensic Examiners), 2750 E. Sunshine

Designed by Webb & Associates Architects for owner Dunton Hayes, this project was completed in 1996. Originally a ranch style, one-story, tract house on East Sunshine. The client hired Webb & Associates to change everything about the building. The result is a "prairie-style" influenced design which has a coordinated architectural image on all sides, not simply the public side. The interior reflects a feeling of a comfortable office work environment with a great deal of controlled natural lighting.

Why is this project your legacy? This is a difficult question to answer. Probably because of the feeling of completeness. This has proven to be a handsome, functional project built within the limitations of the site. The firm continues to receive compliments on this project from friends, neighbors, clients and even other architects. Webb is now working with the new owners on an expansion of the building.
