Cox Medical Center South Outpatient Center, 1801 S. National Ave.
Designed by The Wischmeyer Architects for owner Cox Health Systems, this project was completed in 1995. The 169,779-square-foot addition to the existing hospital featured a new lobby/entrance which combined an information center, patient registration & pre-examination, waiting area, caf? and pharmacy. Also included are five patient modules of same day surgery, a renovated endoscopy suite, a new special delivery maternal care center, including labor and delivery rooms and perinatal ICU for the ground floor, and expansions for biomedical engineering, print shop and communication departments in the tunnel level.
