The league invited 12 newly elected and veteran legislators representing southwest Missouri districts, but only Rep. Charlie Norr, District 137, confirmed that he would attend the morning event at the Discovery Center.
“It’s gotten over the years (that) the legislators just don’t seem to feel it’s very important, so it’s hard to get them to participate,” said league President Rick Hopkins.
Hopkins said the league may reschedule. Plans for Saturday had called for legislators to meet with citizens and for the league to detail its priorities for the coming legislative session.[[In-content Ad]]
