Following the formalization of their pediatric partnership this summer, CoxHealth and St. Louis Children’s Hospital have announced the appointment of a leader.
Sarah Becker, who has nearly 10 years of experience with St. Louis Children’s Hospital, has been named vice president and administrator of the new joint venture. A news release announcing Becker's appointment refers to the partnership, which also includes a collaboration with Washington University Medicine, as St. Louis Children’s at CoxHealth.
Becker, who currently serves as St. Louis Children's director of therapy and audiology services, is relocating to Springfield for her new role. Her new post is effective Dec. 1.
“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Sarah,” said Ashley Casad, senior vice president and president of Springfield hospitals at CoxHealth, in the release. “Her experience leading at St. Louis Children’s Hospital and her deep commitment to improving care for kids make her an incredible addition to southwest Missouri. Her growth mindset and collaborative spirit will be instrumental as we expand access and elevate care for children and families across our region."
Becker will lead the joint venture in establishing a planned pediatric hospital within CoxHealth and a pediatric outpatient center that would include ambulatory surgery, pediatric specialty care, imaging, laboratory services and infusion, as well as physical, speech and occupational therapy offerings. The joint venture plans to break ground on the outpatient facility in 2026; the site is on CoxHealth-owned land at 851 E. Primrose St.
“With more than 25 years of health care experience, serving many communities throughout Missouri, Sarah has dedicated her career to improving the lives of children and their families,” said Trish Lollo, St. Louis Children’s Hospital president, in the release. “Her compassion, leadership and wealth of expertise make her an ideal leader to guide and grow St. Louis Children’s at CoxHealth.”
