The Hoags on April 16 sold the business, 2550 S. Campbell Ave., for an undisclosed price to eight-year-employee Fred Terry and Kathy Delicato and Claire Gibson, said Charlie Hoag, 74. The Hoags will stick around for a short time to tie up loose ends at Lawrence Photo before retiring.
“We’ve appreciated all the patronage that we’ve received from everybody in the Springfield area and southwest Missouri,” Hoag said. “We’ve really enjoyed doing business here.”
Hoag said he and his wife intend to stay in Springfield and travel to visit family and friends in Kansas and Georgia. They’ll also continue their lifelong photography hobby.
Hoag began as manager of the store in 1973, and the Hoags purchased it in 1986. There are 14 employees.
New owner Terry said he will keep the Lawrence Photo name and doesn’t plan to make sweeping changes.
“We have the top brands in cameras and camcorders, a complete custom full-service lab, and experienced associates who help customers learn how to use their new equipment to take better pictures,” Terry said in a news release. “None of that will change.”
