The Senate Commerce Committee is scheduled to vote next week on banning Chinese cars from the U.S. market.
The committee is slated to take up the Connected Vehicle Security Act of 2026.
The measure would provide permanent legal standing to rules finalized under President Joe Biden in early 2025.
