Lawmakers have filed a lawsuit against the state of Missouri over the Show-Me Sports Investment Act that was passed by legislators in special session this year.
The lawsuit alleges the bill, which aims to keep the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals in the state, amounts to "a direct gift or bribe to the owners" of those teams.
Sen. Mike Moon, Rep. Bryant Wolfin and citizen activist Ron Calzone filed the lawsuit in Cole County.
