Newton, Mass.-based Select Income REIT (NYSE: SIR) purchased Crown Center tower for $153.5 million, or around $258 per square foot.
The 24-story, 595,607-square-foot building is headquarters to Kansas City’s largest local law firm, Shook Hardy & Bacon LLP, which will continue operations there.
Crown Center was built for the firm between 2001 and 2003. Houston-based Hines Interests LP purchased it for $155 million in 2008 from Crown Center Redevelopment Corp.
As of June 30, Select owned 116 properties with roughly 43.9 million rentable square feet in 35 states.
