To the south side of town, that is. Reynolds, Parmele & Gold is building a new building for itself and two doctors, who will be tenants of the law firm's building planned for South National Avenue at the James River Freeway intersection. |ret||ret||tab|

Jon Gold, a partner in the firm, said construction on the project is to begin in February, and the firm should be ready to move in by late 2000.|ret||ret||tab|

The attorneys are now in an office at 300 S. John Q. Hammons Pkwy., where they have been since 1995, Gold said. |ret||ret||tab|

The attorneys, Gold, Ken Reynolds and Dan Parmele, and one of the doctor tenants, Dr. William Reynolds, are the principals in Millennium Investments LLC, the company that will own the building, Gold said. |ret||ret||tab|

The building will be on a 1.6-acre lot and will have two floors. The top floor will have 7,000 square feet while the lower level will have 3,900 square feet, Gold said.|ret||ret||tab|

The law firm has a total of nine attorneys. Another attorney will also move his office into the building, though not as a part of their firm, Gold said. |ret||ret||tab|

The law firm hopes to add more attorneys as their practice grows, and the new building will give them the space to do so.|ret||ret||tab|

"We're looking at this as a long-term investment. We hope that it will give us room for more attorneys, but it's also giving us a greater stake in Springfield," Gold said.|ret||ret||tab|

The firm works in nearly every part of civil law, from divorce and traffic to bankruptcy and general business services. |ret||ret||tab|

The doctors in the building will have practices in plastic surgery and burn treatment, and laser surgery.|ret||ret||tab|

"We think this is a good location for us for visibility. That area of town is a growing area," Gold said.|ret||ret||tab|

Though the Hammons office building where the firm now resides holds one of the best legal resources in Springfield the library at the Missouri Court of Appeals on the building's third floor Gold said the advantages of moving into a new space outweigh staying where they are.|ret||ret||tab|

"We are in a situation where we're needing more and more room, and with this, we're going somewhere where we can take as much room as we need," Gold said.|ret||ret||tab|

The $1.55 million building project will also add some name recognition for the firm, Gold said. |ret||ret||tab|

The architect for the building project is Spencer Werner Architects, and the project's general contractor is Friga Construction.|ret||ret||tab|
