Former Larry Snyder and Co. Vice President Dusty Emmert has been promoted to president, the Ozark-based general contractor's top post.
Emmert succeeds Bob Keller, who was named co-CEO along with company owner Larry Snyder.
"The CEO is more of a support role to the president. Typically, we've put people in the CEO position that are nearing retirement or want to take a lesser role in the company, but yet are still working and taking some responsibilities as far as sales and getting out in the community," said Lacy Emmert, corporate secretary for the company.
Emmert, who is Dusty Emmert's wife and Snyder's daughter, said Snyder no longer reports daily to the office, but he stays involved with company financials and with contacts in the community.
Dusty Emmert, who served as vice president of Larry Snyder and Co. for about two years, previously was involved in project management and sales for the company.
"He's fulfilled almost every role in the company. His experience is vast for being 33," Lacy Emmert said. "It's always been the course of things that he would end up taking over the business."
Larry Snyder and Co., which works in Missouri, Oklahoma, Kansas and Arkansas, recorded 2011 revenues of $28.3 million and 202 percent profit growth, according to
Springfield Business Journal archives.
Current projects include the Jeffries Elementary School expansion, Springfield’s compressed natural gas fueling station and five Missouri State University campus jobs this summer.
