More than 1 million visitors have shopped the Landing since it opened in May. The summer brought additional retailers and a $7.5 million water-fire feature to the $420 million development.
As the season draws to a close, the Landing has a number of events scheduled.
On Aug. 26, the 19th Annual Olde Time Fiddle Festival will return to the Lake Taneycomo waterfront, this year with a competition at the Branson Landing Town Square.
More than 60 fiddlers will compete for $4,000 in cash and trophies. The competition begins at 10 a.m. and ends with a finals round at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults; children 12 and younger get in free. To buy tickets, call (417) 334-1548.
The Branson Veteran’s Task Force will commemorate the 61st anniversary of the end of World War II at noon Sept. 2. The Lennon Brothers and Gail Lennon will perform the National Anthem and other tunes, and The American Kids will salute the armed forces.
Also that weekend, Sept. 3¬–4, the Landing will highlight southwest Missouri’s annual fund-raiser for the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association telethon.
Live music and comedy will begin at 7 p.m. Sept. 3, with the Landing’s Motown Experience and singing impressionist Bob Anderson. An 8 p.m. concert by vintage Southern rock group Hurry Sundown will follow.
The telethon will continue through Sept. 4, with live telecasts from the Landing on KOLR 10 television.
New autumn hours began this week at the Landing. They are: 10 a.m.–9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m.–10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m.– 8 p.m. Sunday.[[In-content Ad]]
