Land O'Lakes subsidiary donating 151K eggs to Ozarks Food Harvest

Posted online
Moark LLC, the egg subsidiary of Arden Hills, Minn.-based agricultural cooperative Land O'Lakes, next week is slated to donate 12,600 cartons of product to Ozarks Food Harvest.

The donation, scheduled to be presented April 8 to the regional food bank, equates to 151,200 eggs, according to a news release.

California-based Moark operates its Midwest division in Neosho. Ozarks Food Harvest considers fresh eggs a prized item for their nutritional and high protein content, but they are difficult for food banks to acquire.

Last year, area egg farmers donated some 72,000 eggs to the Springfield nonprofit, which serves about 200 organizations in 28 Ozarks counties. Its efforts bring 10 million meals to 170,000 individuals annually, the release said.
