The Baton Rouge, La.-based agency’s Springfield office is donating space on the board, which went up last October on the highway’s west side, south of Chestnut Expressway. Typical monthly spots on the board run between $2,000 and $3,000, Lamar told Springfield Business Journal at the time.
Three fugitives wanted on felony warrants are currently featured: Wyatt Bohmont, Earl White and Johnathon Moore, according to a Crime Stoppers news release.
The billboard scrolls on an eight-second cycle and can be updated in seconds. That allows city, state and national alerts – including Amber Alerts – to display immediately.
Crime Stoppers programs have utilized billboards since the 1980s, and Lamar has a long-standing partnership with the Greater Kansas City Crime Stoppers, the release said.
