Rod Chapel Jr., director of the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, was in Springfield on Nov. 16 along with attorney and former Missouri Supreme Court Chief Justice John Holstein for a symposium on labor, employment and benefits. The event, sponsored by Kansas City-based law firm Shughart, Thomson & Kilroy PC, took place at the Oasis Inn & Convention Center and covered topics including garnishments, noncompete agreements and compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
