The Department of Labor has fined a slaughterhouse cleaning firm for employing more than 100 children, some as young as 13.
Packers Sanitation Services Inc. has paid a $1.5 million fine for violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
The children were working hazardous overnight jobs cleaning slaughterhouses in eight states, according to NBC News.
