LA to furlough 15,000 workers

The Los Angeles City Council declared a fiscal emergency with plans to furlough 15,000 employees.

Another 1,280 employees are slated to receive $80,000 in cash incentives to retire early.

Officials cited municipal financial troubles amid the coronavirus pandemic.
