Kutak Rock promotes 3 Springfield attorneys to partner

Omaha, Nebraska-based Kutak Rock LLP has appointed three Springfield attorneys to partner as part of a firmwide series of promotions.

Jeffrey W. Coffey, Paul D. Link and Ariel M. Sparrow, who work at the firm's 300 S. John Q. Hammons Parkway office at the John Q. Hammons Building in Springfield, became partners along with 16 other attorneys nationwide, according to a news release. The promotions became effective on Jan. 1.

“On behalf of the entire firm, I am thrilled to congratulate our newest partners on this well-deserved achievement,” said John Petr, chair of Kutak Rock, in the release. “Their demonstrated dedication, expertise and unwavering commitment to our clients and values reflect our proud 60-year history of providing professional, responsive, solution-oriented service."

Coffey specializes in defense and litigation cases for health care clients, with a focus on issues such as insurance defense, medical malpractice and construction defense. He's worked at Kutak Rock since 2023.

Link focuses on litigation for insurance carriers and corporate clients in state and federal courts, and he also represents numerous southwest Missouri cities in their day-to-day legal needs, according to the release. Link has been with Kutak Rock since 2023.

Sparrow, a Kutak Rock employee since 2018, has a practice focusing on corporate and real estate transactions. She has represented manufacturing, health care and technology clients in merger and acquisition transactions.

Kutak Rock ranked No. 6 on Springfield Business Journal's 2024 list of the area's largest law firms. The company reported 12 local attorneys and 19 staff members for the list published May 20.

With more than 550 attorneys nationwide, Kutak Rock has 19 offices in 14 states and the District of Columbia, according to the release.
