Posted online

Springfield radio station KTTS-94.7 FM is one of five finalists for the Small Market Radio Station of the Year award from the Country Music Association.

According to an announcement from KTTS, the station's "Andy & Julie Morning Show" also is in the running for a CMA Broadcast Award.

The show is one of six finalists for the Small Market Broadcast Personality of the Year Award.

Finalists for the awards are selected in four market categories small, medium, large and major as determined by market size, based on population as ranked by Arbitron.

Entrants are judged by a panel of broadcast professionals representing all market sizes and regions.

Entries for Broadcast Personality of the Year are judged on air checks, ratings, community involvement and biographical information.

Stations are judged on air checks, ratings history, community involvement and leadership.

Winners of the 2002 CMA Broadcast Awards will be notified in early November.

"I know it's clich to say it's an honor to be nominated. We really do feel honored to have this nomination," said Brad Hansen, KTTS operations manager. "We owe it all to our listeners, who make it possible for KTTS to be recognized on a national level."

KTTS is part of Milwaukee-based Journal Broadcast Group Inc., which owns five television stations and 36 radio stations in 11 states.
