KSPR: Man arrested for embezzling $400K from Bass Pro Shops

Posted online
Springfield police have arrested the owner of a store inside Bass Pro Shops for a five-year embezzling scheme that netted more than $400,000, according to KSPR, Springfield Business Journal's media partner.

KSPR cites a Police report about the case. The report says the owner of The Little Glass Shack, a concession business inside Bass Pro's Springfield store, was found to be turning in sales reports with inflated sales figures, leading to excessive payments from Bass Pro. The discrepancies were discovered during a recent audit, according to the report.

Police are not releasing the store owner's name, as charges have not yet been filed. A 2010 business license is on file with the city of Springfield, listing the owner of the business as Lee's Little Glass Shack. That company is owned by Eugene L. Black, according to filings with the Missouri Secretary of State's office.
