Kroger shares dip after sales miss

Kroger Co. shares fell 1.6 percent in premarket trading today after the company missed second-quarter sales expectations and cut its 2016 outlook.

Sales were $26.6 billion, above $25.5 billion a year earlier but below analysts' expectations of $26.8 billion.

The company lowered its adjusted earnings outlook for 2016 to $2.10 to $2.20.
