Kroger buys Home Chef

Kroger penned a deal to buy meal-kit maker Home Chef.

The deal is worth $200 million initially and up to $700 million if Home Chef hits performance targets.

The decision comes a week after the Cincinnati-based grocery chain took a $250 million stake in British online grocery operator Ocado Group.
