Kroenke's soccer club soars in value

Columbia businessman Stan Kroenke is majority owner of the world’s seventh most valuable soccer franchise.

The Arsenal FC brand in the English Premier League is now valued at $703 million, up 39 percent from last year’s $505 million valuation, according to the St. Louis Business Journal. Based on London-based Brand Finance’s team valuations, Arsenal’s worth is down one notch from last year.

Earlier this year, the business journal reports Kroenke increased his stake in Arsenal to a 67 percent share of the club. Kroenke has an interest in moving the St. Louis Rams, another of his sports franchise holdings, to the Los Angeles market.
