Infrastructure work has begun on Stan Kroenke’s Inglewood, Calif., 300-acre entertainment district, which could be the future home of the billionaire’s NFL franchise, still named the St. Louis Rams.
The $1.86 billion venue, which has been the focus of between 125 and 150 architects and engineers for months, includes a hotel, housing, hundreds of thousands of square feet of retail and office space and even a lake with waterfalls, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Almost three times the size of Vatican City, the mixed-use district about four miles east of Los Angeles International Airport is going up whether NFL owners approve stadium plans when they convene for a special meeting Jan. 12 and 13 in Houston.
