Kroenke helping develop sprawling mixed-use complex in Overland Park

Posted online
One of Missouri’s richest men, billionaire Stan Kroenke, has partnered with developer Lane4 Property Group Inc. via The Kroenke Group to build a sprawling mixed-use complex on a former mall property in Overland Park, Kan.

The partners unveiled plans Friday for Central Square, which would combine 500,000 square feet of restaurants, retail and entertainment space, 56,000 square feet of offices and 450 luxury apartments. The development is planned for 63 acres at one of the Kansas City area’s busiest intersections, 95th Street and Metcalf Avenue.

The Kroenke Group and Lane4 bought the site, which was home to Metcalf South Mall and 95 West Shopping Center, last February.

Besides Columbia-based The Kroeke Group, the husband of Ann Walton also owns Kroenke Sports Enterprises, which owns professional sports franchises including the St. Louis Rams and Denver Nuggets.
