Kroenke Group withdraws plan for $320M redevelopment project

Lane4 Property Group Inc. and The Kroenke Group have withdrawn their plans for a $320 million mixed-use redevelopment in overland Park, Kan.

Its project to redesign Central Square would have converted defunct Metcalf South and 95 West shopping centers into 571,794 square feet of retail and office and 226 apartment units.

According to the St. Louis Business Journal, Overland Park's planning staff recommended denial of the developers' rezoning request, mostly because of a 177,000-square-foot big-box retailer. Staff said current plans don’t conform with the long-term development goals for the area through the Vision Metcalf plan.
